2011: What a Year it Was

Some periods of time seem more momentous than others, and for excitement and change, 2011 can’t be beat. The Arab Spring is undoubtedly the story of the year, but let’s don’t forget the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, the deaths of Steven Jobs and Elizabeth Taylor, the near-death of the financial system of Europe and many other events, both happy and sad. As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Well, tell that to Hosni Mubarak or Rupert Murdoch … 2011 has changed a lot of things. Enjoy Al Arabiya’s look back.
