Humanitarian assistance is needed for Mohammad Mansour Atassi, aged about 60, who was detained by the air force intelligence in Homs in October and has not been referred to a court yet.
According to his daughter Hala Atassi, he is a communist and has nothing to do with the sectarian conflict currently taking place in Homs. He is suffering from heart problems, high blood pressure, and diabetes and he is using splints for his broken arm.
His family brings him warm clothing and bed sheets to his detention. Kindly transfer him to court, particularly as his hands are not tainted with blood.
The party that detained him says he is part of the coordination committees, which means that he leads demonstrations, encourages people, and sets up the times and locations of protests.
