Turkey’s Sahin moves to Arsenal on loan
While Arsenal fans lament the loss of star forward Robin van Persie and midfielder Alex Song within the past week, they have been given positive news as coach Arsene Wenger announced he is anticipating to sign two new players before the transfer market ends, reports UAE-based Sports360 online.
Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin has been signed for a season-long loan by the Gunners, according to various reports, after beating Liverpool for the deal which has been under negotiations since the La Liga champions’ coach Jose Mourinho announced he would release Sahin on a temporary agreement.
The 23-year old Turkish international, who made 10 appearances for Madrid after his 8 million pound ($12,598,400) transfer from Borussia Dortmund last season, will allegedly be paid a two million pound ($3,149,600) loan fee from Arsenal.
In 2011, Sahin scored six goals and recorded eight assists in 30 games when he was in Dortmund, contributing to the club’s league victory and being named Bundesliga Player of the Year.
In related news, Wenger is also reportedly targeting Cheikh M’Bengue from Toulouse FC to bring to the club as a defender, as Laurent Koscielny and Bakary Sagna have sustained injuries.
M’Bengue has confessed over the weekend that he is mutually interested in possibly moving to England and joining Arsenal.
