Making dreams come true, takes a lot of passion, a lot of efforts, and the right breed of people. As Walt Disney said: “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world; but it takes people to make the dream a reality.”
It took 100 professionals from 10 companies and a lot of coordination from Tamanna, the wish granting organization for children suffering from Cancer, to realize the dream of an 8-year-old Carmen, currently braving Cancer in Beirut, as she wanted a tablet computer for Christmas. They all walked and some flew the extra mile and created a full Christmas setting in Beirut Souks, with Santa Claus arriving by air, using the Lebanese Army Helicopter, to deliver the wished Christmas present in September instead of December.
In Dubai as well, dozens of cancer survivors have a more realistic dream, to get back to their working lives by reentering the workforce and becoming active members of society.
These dreams will come true with the help of Pure Heart, the specialized recruitment agency, aiming to raise awareness on the importance of supporting cancer patients and encouraging corporations to take CSR initiatives towards this cause.
Based on last event’s success in February 2012, when 20 percent of the candidates landed on their “back on track” opportunity, Pure Heart will organize the second chapter of its recruitment events on Monday Oct. 10, at the Millennium hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, in Dubai from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rania Amer, the founder of “Pure Heart” explained that this event will attract leading companies, local as well as multinationals, working in different fields and looking for many talented persons with diverse qualifications.
Amer added that this is an opportunity for corporations to take CSR initiatives towards this cause.
She expressed her wish to break the record of 20 percent set at the first event and to succeed in placing more candidates in adequate jobs, so that cancer survivors overcome the different side effects of cancer through a fresh start with a new job.
But Rania is not walking alone, as this event is supported by Touwan Hospital, which played a major role in creating awareness around the program and conveyed its key message to the patients and their families. She thanked key participants as well, such as Majed al-Futaim, Aramex, Procter and Gamble and al-Ahli holding group for the jobs they are offering to fill during this event.
Cancer survivors will have more than a placement event to benefit from, as the strategic recruitment partner Bayt.com is offering training sessions to cancer patients to support the fulfillment of their dreams for a job…
Dreams after all, require the right type of companies, and the right breed of people.
