Manchester City was held to a 0-0 draw by West Ham on Saturday, remaining third in the Premier League standings after failing to take advantage of Chelsea’s earlier slip-up.

Man City dominated possession and territory at Upton Park, particularly after halftime, but West Ham was denied a goal to captain Kevin Nolan in the fourth minute because of a dubious offside decision.

City remains the only unbeaten team but would have relegated last-round leader Chelsea to third with a victory after the European champions drew 1-1 at Swansea.

Manchester United beat Arsenal 2-1 to become the new leader in the standings, one point ahead of Chelsea and two in front of City.

West Ham is only two points out of the Champions League places.
