Alain Perrin, who managed the Qatar Olympic under-23 Qatari national team on Dec. 19, signed a new contract that will see Perrin as the coach for Qatar Stars League (QSL) giants Al Gharafa club.
According to Qatar's Football Association offical website, Perrin will replace the Brazilian soccer manager Paulo Silas, who led Al Gharafa to win Emir of Qatar Cup 2012 in May against Al Sadd.
However, the retired midfielder, Silas was sacked after the crushing defeat of Al Gharafa by Al Rayyan with 5-1 score in November.
Al Gharafa will be trained under the reign of the French footballer Perrin until the end of the season, officials confirmed in the report. The 56-year-old retired soccer player has previously coached QSL’s club Al Khor.
With his football managerial career expanding to more than twenty years, Perrin has coached clubs including, the UAE’s football club Al-Ain, Troyes, Portsmouth, Sochaux and Lyon to name a few.
According to the FIFA World Cup website, the national Qatar Stars League standing scoreboard places Al Gharafa amongst the top10 with the sixth spot after the top Al Sadd club (one), Lekhwiya (two), Al Rayyan (three), Al Jaish (four) and Umm Salal (five) after 11 rounds in the game.
