But he himself made his call in public, in the same manner Ahmadinejad does to rally his supporters behind him when needed.
Khamenei will think only of preserving his regime despite open letters between Ahmadinejad and the head of the judiciary Sadeq Larijani which highlighted major violations in the government and the judiciary; Ahmadinejad noted constitutional violations in the judiciary while Larijani hinted to the financial corruption within the government.
But the supreme advisor of the republic is not willing to reveal these violations to keep the people away from knowing what’s really happening in the country. If the regime was healthy then why would Khamenei oppose informing his citizen of what’s happening in the dark, but if the criticism is only based on a difference in opinions then why did the stances of Ahmadinejad and Larijani alarm Khamenei to the extent that he declared that the continuity of these conflicts is a betrayal against the regime.
Khamenei is asking his people for full obedience to his judgment, based on his claims that he has his legitimacy from God and not from the people.
Iranian leaders always use their people’s credit to ensure that they remain in power, and Ahmadinejad who claimed in his letter to Larijani that he wanted to know what’s happening in the prisons in order to preserve the rights of the people actually seeks to achieve his own political goals, especially that he is facing now the camps of Khamenei and the Larijani Brothers --Sadeq, the head of the judiciary, and Ali, the head of the parliament.
Ahmadinejad spoke about the people’s rights, while his ministries punish the citizen without any legal basis, such as the campaigns led by the ministry of culture and guidance against newspapers, artists and intellectuals, in addition to the arbitrary arrests and torture exerted by the security forces to obtain erroneous confessions.
From his side, the head of the judiciary, turns a blind eye to these violations and contents himself by threatening of opening economic corruption cases against some of Ahmadinejad government officials.
But the leaders of Iran are not worried about any escalation in their differences as they all have major cases against each other, and therefore the threats will not turn into a big clash, especially that Khamenei himself had to take the stage this time to ask them to hide the facts from the people, so he can keep his absolute power in Iran.
