style="text-align: left;">A suicide bomber killed at least two people wounded two others at an army camp in Libya’s Benghazi, medical and security sources said on Tuesday.
The bomber’s car exploded at the gate of the, a source inside the special forces camp said.
The attack comes amid Libyan armed forces’ struggle battling hardline Islamist militants, including Ansar al-Sharia, a group listed as a terrorist organization by Washington.
The central government is also struggling to control armed groups of former rebels who previously helped overthrow former dictator Muammar Qaddafi in 2011, and now refuse to disarm.
Most countries downplayed their diplomatic relations with Libya through closing consulates in Benghazi, while many foreign airlines stopped their flights there, after the U.S. ambassador and three other American citizens were killed in an Islamist militant attack in September 2012.
A recent attack in Libya’s capital Tripoli targeted the Portuguese embassy, and wounded a security officer, Portuguese news agency Lusa said last week.
