Egypt’s foreign reserves at $17.1bn in January, central bank says

Egypt's foreign reserves rose slightly to $17.105 billion in January from $17.032 billion in December, the central bank said on Thursday.

The reserves stood at $15.015 billion in December 2012. Egypt's foreign exchange reserves, which stood at $36 billion on the eve of the 2011 uprising against former President Husni Mubarak, have been hit by political turmoil since his downfall.
