Kuwait’s Wataniya Airways has been forced to suspend its flights after a whirlwind recent period of instability, the company announced on Monday.

The airline only has one plane to its name, an Airbus 320, which is unable to fly due to a failure in one of its engines.

The airline also has two other planes, but they are leased from Olympus Airways and Kuwait’s civil aviation authority “refused to register them due to reservations over the company,” according to Kuwait’s official news agency KUNA.

Wataniya had previously suspended operations due to similar issues but had resumed in July 2017, launching routes to the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia.

“If Wataniya Airways fails again to tackle these problems, it will be stripped of its license permanently,” the KUNA statement added.
