Saudi Arabia blocked 2.6 million pornographic links in 2015
Since 2010 until the end of last year, more than 3.5 million porn links have been blocked
The Communication and Information Technology Commission has discovered that a total of 2.6 million pornographic links have been blocked in 2015 by the Saudi government. It further elaborated that since 2010 until the end of last year, more than 3.5 million porn links have been blocked, in addition to all related links.
The institute noted that the main objective of this is to protect children from dangerous and provocative websites. During the third quarter of 2015, a special classification of pornographic sites targeting children was placed which totaled 549 links.
The agency stated that with coordination between search engines and service providers, enabling SafeSearch will help block more and more links.
