Women escaping ISIS victoriously remove black clothing

Women who have been living under ISIS reign have fled and victoriously cast off the long black veils and abayas, according to images being shared online.

According to freelance reporter Jack Shahine on Twitter, the women seen in the pictures are both Arab and Kurdish.

The location of these pictures is still unknown, but is believed to be somewhere along the border between ISIS- and Kurdish-controlled areas.

The women have reportedly now made their way across the border into safe territories controlled by the Kurds.

According to a manifesto written by ISIS militants and widely reported on in recent months, women living under the control of ISIS are forced to wear the long black outfits that are cut to obscure any outline of their bodies.
