Did Nasrallah meet Assad in a tent along the Syrian-Lebanese border?
News was leaked about a secret meeting that was held between Secretary General of Hezbollah and the Syrian President on the border
News was leaked about a secret meeting that was held between Secretary General of Hezbollah militia Hassan Nasrallah and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on the borders between Syria and Lebanon.
The news was published in ad-Diyar Lebanese Newspaper.
If the rumors turned to be true, observers say that Nasrallah might have imposed his full conditions on Assad in terms of security arrangements.
The same source said that Assad took a secret road and had only few persons with him in the car. Nasrallah has also taken a secret road that only villagers would use, as stated in the news.
The two men, Nasrallah and Assad, met in a tent after a covert operation.
In the same context, former ambassador to the Assad regime to Jordan, Major General Bahjat Suleiman wrote on his Facebook page few days ago, a post commenting on what was written in ad-Diyar Newspaper saying that “sometimes it takes a good guess, sometimes it does not”. However, he did not deny the fact that the meeting did indeed take place.
It is worth mentioning that the security measures taken by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad got more complex ever since he was subjected to aerial bombardment.
Many of Assad supporters consider Hassan Nasrallah and Qassem Soleimani as role models; they deal with them as two prominent leaders, especially after the Iranian and Hezbollah’s interference in Syria.
However, according to many observers, if the meeting in the tent turned to be true, it would mean that the security of Hassan Nasrallah has clearly become more important than that of Bashar al-Assad’s.
