Ayad Allawi, vice president of Iraq – where ISIS has claimed swathes of territory – was part of the panel at the Dead Sea resort.
“The biggest challenge we face is extremism and terrorism,” said Allawi, adding that this is a problem felt worldwide.
Chaired by Espen Barth Eide, member of the managing board at the World Economic Forum, the panel also included Atifete Jahjaga, President of the Republic of Kosovo, and Saleh Muhammed Al Mutlaq, Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq.
The other panel members were: Sarah Sewall, the U.S. Undersecretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights; Mohammad Jaafar, chief executive of the Kuwaiti Danish Dairy Company; and Suleiman Bakhit, Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Hero Factor.
