Giant rat eats one-year-old baby in Yemen

A giant rat killed a one-year-old baby in Western Yemen after eating parts of his body, leaving the mother in nervous breakdown and the town in relentless hunt for the rodent, Yemeni press reported on Tuesday.

The baby was laying at a clay hut in al-Hadith district in Western Yemen when the rat attacked him and ate parts of his body.

When the mother returned to her baby, he was still alive but lost his life before he could reach the hospital, Yemeni press quoted local sources at the al-Hadith district in Western Yemen as saying.

The people are currently hunting for rat, setting traps at the entrances of their village, the Yemeni press said.
