With most of its weight being made up of water, you would not expect to pay $351 for a watermelon. But, a new batch of heart-shaped watermelons are being sold in Kuwait for just that much, local news channel al-Rai reported earlier this week.

The exotic-looking fruit is being imported from Japan, according to the channel.

The normal, oval-shaped watermelons, placed next to heart-shaped ones, are priced at 13 Kuwaiti dinars ($46), the reporter said.

Only 40 heart-shaped watermelons made it to Kuwait, out of the 120 produced in that particular batch, according to the report.

The remaining 80 heart-shaped watermelons were divided between Japan and Russia, said the Sultan Center retail outlet – where the curiously shaped watermelons are sold - on its Instagram account.
