Woman in India ‘marries’ twice posing as man to get dowry
A 31-year-old Indian woman who appeared to master the art of dressing up as a man to get married was finally outed.
Seeking profit from the idea of dowry, the woman in question, Sweety Sen, had posed as a man, Krishna Sen, and deceitfully married two women, reported the Times of India.
Her three-year not-so Oscar-winning performance failed after she was reported to the police by her first wife. Sen has since been arrested by police and has undergone a series of investigations.

One of her roles entailed posing as “the son of a wealthy businessman,” the report said. Sen scouted for potential wives through Facebook and even succeeded in duping two gregarious women.
During an interrogation with the police on Thursday, Sen confessed that “she used to indulge in a physical relationship with her “wives” in pitch darkness by using sex toys ordered through online sites.”
After discovering that Sen was indeed no ‘prince’ charming, the first wife confronted her and was later threatened to keep her identity a secret for a sum of money.
Speaking to the TOI, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Janmejay Khanduri, said that the woman is now facing charges of impersonation, fraud and forgery.
“Although the initial case was related to dowry harassment, we have modified the complaint since the accused was revealed to be a woman after a medical examination and not the husband against whom the complaint was initially made,” he said.
Police are also investigating whether Sen has tricked other women.
