Canada elects its first Egyptian MP
Canada has welcomed its first Egyptian MP this week.
Professor Sheref Sabawy is part of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party and won the parliamentary elections for the province of Mississauga-Erin Mills with 40 percent of the vote, according to Cairo Scene
Sabawy is a Coptic professor and has over three decades of experience in the Computer Network and Consulting industry.
“I am very glad with this victory which promotes the name of Egypt’,’ said Sabawy in a statement.
Sabawy aims to promote better healthcare, increase the quality of education and lower taxes.
