You cannot follow up with the interesting process of choosing a new pope for the Catholic Church without thinking of Dan Brown’s novels “Da Vinci’s Code” and “Angels and Demons” which were also produced into movies. In both works, the story of the Church of Rome, the seat of Saint Peter and the Vatican State were recreated and placed within the context of the current era. Religions before Christianity were brought up in the first novel while the struggle between science and religion was brought up in the second. Humanity’s history was reorganized and looked into all over again in both books. But this was not carried out by specialists and historians but by the public who read the books or watched the movies.
