Interview with ُEgypt's Salafist leader Yasser al-Burhami
Friday, 10 January 2014
This week’s guest is Dr. Yasser al-Burhami, the vice president of al-Dawa al-Salafiya in Egypt. This group, along with its political wing the al-Nour Party, has launched a campaign to persuade Egyptians to vote yes on the new draft constitution, despite some irregularities within the document. Dr. al-Burhami will discuss whether the vote is compulsory, if he believes the new draft will serve an Islamic agenda, why the party decided to support the roadmap announced on July 3, 2013 and if he thinks his organization presents itself as an alternative to the Muslim Brotherhood.
