The guest of this week’s episode of Point of Order is Sheikh Hassan Chalghoumi, head of “Forum of Imams” in France and the imam of Drancy Mosque in northern Paris. He says that the security measures in France have changed the life of many figures in the country. He believes that Belgium and France are suffering from Takfiri thoughts and those with Jihadist ideologies. He said that Paris represents the coexistence between religions and races, “therefore it was targeted”. Chalghoumi asked all the Imams in the Arab world to contribute to the reform of religious discourse. He stressed that the imams of France are cooperating with the authorities in the screening of extremist elements. He called upon French Muslims to inform the authorities about the intentions or suspicions of any extremist. “Those who do not do so, will be considered as their partners,” he said.
Point of Order is a live, weekly socio-political hard-talk show. Its guests have included figures such as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, French philosopher and author Bernard-Henri Lévy and the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan region Masoud Barzani.
