Fahim, is a Bengali prodigy boy who was playing chess before the age of five. He was thus of huge interest to gambling mafia. His father was also threatened by politicians because he belonged to a party that opposes the regime. The father and son thus escaped to France who did not welcome them like the father had thought it would; therefore, after the authorities rejected their asylum request, they ended up in France’s streets and metro stations for two years. A French coach met Fahim and admired his skills at chess so he decided to care for him. Fahim then lived with a French family and he had no other choice but adjust with a new life. Fahim won France’s chess championship, forcing the prime minister to legally finalize his and his father’s residency.
