Families of suspects in terrorist cases in the country aided the authorities in arresting the extremist individuals. The families shed light on the importance of impeding terrorist acts by keeping close tabs on any extremism in their children's ideas, and reporting them if proven as extremists to the authorities. In the district of Al Muwanisiyah northeast of Riyadh, Saeed Al-Zahrani suspected that his two sons Ahmed, 21 and Mohammed, 19 were linked to ISIS and that they were preparing for terrorist operations in the name of the organization. Accordingly, he informed Saudi security forces, who showed up at the Al-Zahrani residence and sieged the building Ahmed and Mohammed took refuge in. The two young men were later on arrested. Notifying security forces of such speculation, played an important role in impeding terrorist operations that would have claimed the lives of both civilians and security forces.
