Ayatollah Khamenei: another of Ahmadinejad’s opponents

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's provocative State visit to Lebanon is still being heavily discussed by the Arab and Iranian media.

Despite the widespread rumours, Iran's President did not throw a stone from southern Lebanon across the border into Israel; nor did he even travel to the border, as initially planned, to inaugurate a new family park sponsored and financed by the Iranian Government, named 'Iran's Park.'

Instead, the Iranian President appeared to act with caution, delivering his speech in Bint Jbil, 4km from Iran's Park. It was surprising that he decided not to appear on the hilltop near the Lebanese-Israeli border.

Ahmadinejad was apparently advised by Hezbollah not to make himself too visible to Israeli forces, for security reasons and to avoid the controversy his visit could cause for both Iran and Lebanon.
