US Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson said in a statement on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia and its allies have prepared a list of demands for Qatar to resolve the ongoing spat between them.
“In regards to the continuing dispute within the GCC, we understand a list of demands has been prepared and coordinated by the Saudis, Emiratis, Egyptians, and Bahrainis,” he said.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain have boycotted and severed ties with Qatar over the latter’s support to terrorism.
Tillerson added: “We hope the list of demands will soon be presented to Qatar and will be reasonable and actionable.
He also said Washington supports Kuwait’s “mediation effort and look forward to this matter moving toward a resolution.”
