Dubai ruler pays tribute to late police chief
Khamis Mattar Mazeina had joined the police force on June 13, 1983 and was recenly chief of police
Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, has paid tribute to the city’s late police chief.
Lt. General Khamis Mattar al-Mazeina passed away in the early hours of Friday and a funeral was held at the Zabeel Grand Mosque during afternoon prayers.

“I provide my personal condolences to his family, friends and to the people of Dubai and the UAE. For someone to leave a legacy like Lt. General Khamis Matar has done, he has written his achievements as part of our nation’s history,” Al Maktoum tweeted.
Mazeina had joined the police force on June 13, 1983, and in 1993 he was appointed the narcotics division officer at the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
