Yemen: Army advances in Shabwah while Houthis bomb civilians

The loses of the Houthi militias and ousted president Saleh keep accumulating. On the ground, they lost many locations in the province of Shabwah, on Friday. One Houthi Field commander was killed by the forces of the national army and the Popular Resistance in the Ma’rib area in the region of Makhdara. As always, the militias evened the score with an indiscriminate shelling, the civilians are the ones bearing the costs.

Forced displacement

In contrast, Hotat city in the governorate of Lahij witnessed the displacement of dozens of families from the Charijah area, located between the provinces of Lahij and Taiz after being forced to flee their homes by the Houthi and Saleh militias. The latter planted explosive devices and mines in the vicinity of the homes of the residents, as a signal to the population not to come back.

In the province of Taiz, the Yemeni army forces responded, with the popular resistance, on Friday, to an attack by the Houthi and Salah Militia in the vicinity of the Saouida and Kholwa hills west of the city. The militias sustained causalities and material calamities, according to the media center for the leadership of the ax of Taiz.

In the Shabwah province, Yemeni forces also managed to apprehend new sites in the eastern front, causing the Salah and Houthi militias new deficiency.
