Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, made a telephone call to United States Defense Secretary James Mattis congratulating him on the victory over ISIS in Mosul.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman praised the US role in leading the international coalition in the fight against ISIS, stressing that the war on terrorism and all those who support and finance it must continue to be firm.

The two sides also discussed ways of developing coordination mechanisms between the two countries to combat terrorism and combat extremism and military and defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the US.

The telephone call came after the Saudi crown prince met with French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian on Saturday, who commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the fight against terrorism at a joint press conference with Saudi FM Jubeir in Jeddah.
