Chaotic video shows moment Saudi plane reroutes due to smoke in cabin

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah’s official Twitter account announced the Saudi Arabian airlines flight 3453 to Khartoum returned minutes after taking off due to smoke emitting from the plane’s food heating device.

The account also announced that medical attention was provided to two cases which involved inhaling the smoke. They have also informed the investigative office, and the airport is working with carrier to offer a replacement flight.

The airport’s twitter account also confirmed that concerned airport authorities have handled the situation efficiently through following emergency procedures. Accordingly 251 passengers were safely evacuated off the plane.

The Bureau of Investigation of the General Authority of Civil Aviation was also alerted to complete all necessary procedures.
