UAE minister: Limited Arab response to Jerusalem crisis is effect of Arab Spring
The UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, tweeted on Sunday that Arab countries options are very limited in the face of the crisis that was US President Donald Trump’s announcement of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

He goes on to say that this is a natural result of the polarization in the region caused by the Arab Spring.
Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the US embassy from Tel Aviv received huge backlash from around the world in the form of protests, and public denunciations of the decision from countries like Saudi Arabia.
“Our situation today is unpleasant and the treatment is not self-flagellation,” said Gargash.
