Houthi militia have only weapons but no men, says Ali Abdallah Saleh’s lawyer

Mohammed al-Masuri, the attorney of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, asserted that the current status of the Houthi group represents an opportunity to get rid of them, pointing out that they began to impose compulsory recruitment and take students out of schools to put them in combat.

Masuri pointed out that the Houthi militia only has weapons but no men.

Several reports have indicated that the Houthi militias are facing a recruitment crisis. It has begun the process of forced recruitment and pushing citizens to the front lines.

According to Yemeni sources, the Houthi militias ordered military commissions to pursue all members of the army and security registered in the Ministries of Defense and Interior and persuade them to go to the battle fronts or write their names off from the military.

Masuri warned that the Houthi group cannot be trusted, and said that any future alliance with it will prove to be dangerous and disappointing.

He revealed that some personalities have committed acts of treason. In a statement to al-Hadath channel on Friday evening, he disclosed that everything will be explained later, pointing out that the late President Ali Abdullah Saleh was betrayed.
