Saudi Security arrests seven involved in bid to recruit officials

Published: Updated:

The spokesman of the head of the Saudi State Security said that the authority monitored a coordinated activity of a group of people who violated the religious and national norms, suspiciously contacting external parties to support their activities, Saudi Press Agency reported, on Friday.

They attempted to recruit people working in sensitive government positions and provide financial support to hostile elements abroad with the aim of undermining the security and stability of the Kingdom and social safety and divide national unity, in which Article XII of the Statute of the rule confirms that it must be strengthened and protected from strife and division.

The authorities were able to arrest seven members of this group, while work is still under way to identify everyone involved and take all the legal measures against them.
