Saudi Crown Prince discusses Yemen developments with UK PM May in phone call
In a phone call between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May on Saturday, both parties agreed that the only way for the Yemeni situation to be resolved is through a political solution.
They discussed the humanitarian situation in Yemen and agreed the importance of doing everything they could to ease the suffering of Yemenis.
May reaffirmed Britain’s commitment to the JCPoA as the best means of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. They both agreed on the importance of tackling Iran’s destabilizing activity in the region.
The two leaders also discussed the crown prince’s successful visit to the UK earlier this year, and noted that they were moving forward with work on education, healthcare and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. They also agreed on the importance of oil market stability
"Prime Minister May and the crown prince noted the importance of stability in the oil markets, which they said was in the interests of both consumers and producers," a statement said.
They reaffirmed the importance of further cooperation and strong ties between both countries.
