The naval unit of Yemen’s fifth infantry were able to detonate a number of naval mines planted by the Houthi militias on the west coast off Habil port in Midi.
According to Al Arabiya English’s correspondent on the ground, the naval unit received aerial support from the arab coalition and were able to detonate these naval mines.
Such Houthi mines have threatened maritime navigation and aid ships destined for the Yemeni people in the maritime islands of the province of Hajjah.
According to a military source, the Huthis have hidden these mines under sea level, so that they could target ships’ blindsides.
The source also confirmed that these naval mines were made in a primitive way by Iranian experts and Hezbollah elements.
