In its continuous war on drug smuggling, Saudi Arabian customs thwarted five attempts to smuggle 385,059 tablets of amphetamine (Captagon), found hidden inside four vehicles entering the kingdom across the al-Haditha port.
Haditha port's Customs Chief Abdulrazzaq Al-Zahrani said that the customs officers seized the pills after five failed attempts by the smugglers.
Al-Zahrani indicated that the necessary procedures were taken, in regards to the smugglers and seized drugs.
Saudi Arabia’s security forces arrested 1,628 people, among them 604 Saudi nationals, for drug crimes in the past year.
According to Saudi security sources the crackdown on drug smugglers- from 41 nationalities- which happened between September 2017 till March 2018, is considered a big blow to drug smugglers in the kingdom. Read more
