Yemen: Senior Houthi leader, 20 associates killed in air strike in Hajjah

A senior Houthi leader , Mohammed al-Aqwaa along with a number of his associates were killed on Wednesday in an air strike launched by the Arab coalition backing the Yemeni legitimate forces in the governorate of Hajjah.

The media center for the fifth military zone said the senior Houthi leader, Mohammed Hassan Haddad al-Aqwaa, was killed along with twenty others of the pro-Iranian militia in the air strike which targeted them while in a meeting on Wednesday afternoon at the house of al-Aqwaa in Bani Hassan in the directorate of Abes, in Hajjah.

A number of prominent Houthi leaders are present in Abes directorate, under the command of what is known as “commander of the fifth military zone of the Houthis,” following the liberation of the center of Hiran Directorate in Hajjah, by the National Army forces last week.

On Wednesday, a Yemeni military Source told Al Arabiya English that the Houthi militias declared a state of emergency in the areas of Marran in Saada governorate in northern Yemen after intensive raids by coalition aircraft targeting their positions, amid advances by the Yemeni national army.
