Saudi Arabia said on Thursday evening that its forces have intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the Houthi militias toward the border Saudi city of Jazan.
The Houthis have stepped up missile attacks on the Kingdom in recent months.
Late on Wednesday, Saudi civil defense had said that the kingdom’s air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired by the Houthis on the southern city of Najran, wounding 37 people due to shrapnel. Full story
The Yemeni legitimate forces have repeatedly stressed the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi militias and supplying them with rockets carrying qualitative capabilities, in clear defiance of United Nations Resolutions 2216 and 2231 in order to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and destabilize regional and international security.
This come at a time when UN-sponsored talks in Geneva hang in the balance as the government delegation warned that it would leave the Swiss city on Friday if representatives of the Houthi militias do not show up. Read more
