US police found a Saudi student killed in his apartment in Miami, Florida, on Sunday.
Police said the 23-year-old was studying engineering at the University of Miami and that traces of assault were found on his body.
The police confirmed that they had begun investigating the incident and would treat it as homicide.
The police said they announced a reward for anyone who can come forward with information which can help in the investigation.
The university students and staff held a vigil for the Saudi student, cancelling classes on Monday to pay homage to the young and promising student.
The Saudi embassy has been informed about the unfortunate incident and is following on the investigation while providing all needed support to the family of student. The name of the student has not yet been revealed.
