Bahrain criticizes Qatari emir for not attending GCC summit in Riyadh

Bahrain’s foreign minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa criticized Qatar’s emir on Sunday for not attending an annual Gulf Arab summit in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a tweet, that Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tami bin Hamad al-Thani should have come to Riyadh and participate in the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) 39th annual summit.

Sheikh Khalid added that Sheikh Tamim should have accepted the invitation.

The foreign minister further said in the tweet that the summit represent a unified stance for just demands.

On Sunday, Qatar sent its state minister for foreign affairs Qatar sent State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi to to the summit.

Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz received Omani and UAE delegations upon their arrival on Sunday for the one-day gathering of the six member states that is expected to focus on security issues.
