UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said on Thursday, that the United Arab Emirates welcomes the outcomes of UN brokered peace talks on the Yemeni crisis, which convened last Thursday in Rimbo, Sweden, and ended today.
Gargash added that the agreement reached in Sweden between delegates representing the Yemeni warring parties, would not have been reached without the military pressure used by the Arab coalition supporting the legitimate government of President of Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi fighting the Iran-allied Houthi militias.
The UAE minister added that the coalition spared the port city of Hodeidah from military operations in order to save civilians’ lives.
He added that the port of Hodeidah can now play its role on humanitarian and commercial levels.
