UAE’s Gargash: Reviewing Qatar policies beyond realm of political dimensions
The UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said in a tweet on Friday that the debate over Qatar’s inability to host the World Cup without the contribution of its neighbors, exceeds sports and logistics management and emphasizes the state’s natural need to its surrounding.
In the tweet, the minister said that the review of the policies of the former Emir is beyond political dimensions, “as we see.”
On Thursday, Sheikh Ahmed al-Yousef, head of Kuwait’s Football Association, said that Kuwait cannot facilitate the conditions of participating in hosting some of the World Cup matches.
Gargash said in a tweet on Tuesday that the Qatar boycott will continue in 2019.
“In my estimation, the Qatar boycott will continue in 2019 as it is tied to mandatory changes in Doha’s destructive directives,” Gargash wrote.
