Saudi crown prince assures Guterres of Riyadh’s keenness on Yemen stability
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a telephone call on Tuesday from UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
Guterres thanked the support provided by Saudi Arabia in pushing for positive results in the dialogue between the Yemeni parties and appreciated the efforts of the crown prince in this regard, a statement from Saudi Press Agency read.
“The crown prince stressed Saudi Arabia's keenness on everything that serves the interests of the Yemeni people and the security and stability of Yemen,” the statement read.
During the phone call, Guterres also commended the recent peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea signed in Jeddah and expressed his appreciation toward Saudi leadership which mediated in helping restore relations between the two countries.
The UN Secretary General also briefed the Saudi crown prince during the phone call on the international efforts spent towards regional issues and developments.
