Kuwait extends school closures for additional two weeks over coronavirus

Kuwait extended the closure of schools for an additional two weeks amid rising concerns over the spread of coronavirus.

The decision to extend the suspension of all public and private schools in Kuwait was made by the conutry’s Council of Ministers during a session held on Monday.

All schools, universities, government and private colleges, military colleges, and institutions under Awqaf and Islamic affairs will remain closed until March 26.

Kuwait confirmed on Monday three new cases of the deadly coronavirus, raising the total number of cases to 65, according to the Ministry of Health.

Kuwait will be closing all cinemas, theater halls, and hotels, as well the cancellation of all wedding parties until further notice, government spokesperson Tariq Al-Muzaram said in a press conference.
