Iraqi officials say a bomb left inside a restaurant north of Baghdad exploded on Monday and killed at least seven civilians and wounded 25 others.
Police officers say the restaurant is located in the town of Taji, on the main highway that links Baghdad to northern provinces. Two women and a 12-year old child were among the dead.
The attack comes a day after 51 people were killed in a wave of car bombs, shootings and suicide attack across Iraq.
Meanwhile, two policemen were killed and eight more wounded in a car bomb near Fallujah Police Department, Al Arabiya’s correspondent reported Monday.
As violence continues across the country, Al Arabiya’s correspondent said at least 86 thousand voters from the Iraqi security forces headed to polling stations in the provinces of Anbar and Nineveh.
