Saudi Crown Prince Salman arrives in Japan on official visit
The crown prince will seek to strengthen Saudi–Japanese bilateral relations
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud arrived in the Japanese capital Tokyo on Tuesday following a four-day visit to Pakistan.
Prince Salman, who is also the kingdom’s deputy prime minister and defense minister, was greeted at Tokyo’s Hanedo Airport by Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito and a number of the Japanese officials.
The senior Saudi official is expected to meet Wednesday with Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the two sides are anticipated to sign a number of joint cooperation agreements.
Prince Salman’s arrival in Japan comes after a three-day state visit to Pakistan during which parties discussed international and regional developments, sought ways of boosting bilateral ties between Riyadh and Islamabad and signed several bi-lateral agreements.
