Onlookers who witnessed the children calling for help notified the Civil Defense, but it was too late when rescuers made it to the scene
Four children aged 8 to 12 drowned in the Shahdan valley, east of Jazan, while they were swimming in water that had accumulated due to recent rainfall in the area.

The children’s bodies were transported to the mortuary at Sabya General Hospital and the Civil Defense has repeated its warning to the public against crossing or swimming in valleys.
