Syria’s al-Qaeda offshoot al-Nusra Front said on Friday it skilled captive Lebanese soldier Ali Bazal after authorities fail to release detained women relatives of their leaders, Reuters news agency reported.

Following the announcement, Lebanese army conducted wide deployment near the Syrian border, Al Arabiya correspondent reported.

The soldier was one of more than two dozen members of the security forces taken captive by militants affiliated to the Nusra Front and Islamic State when they staged an attack on the Lebanese border town of Arsal in August.
