Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz held talks with visiting Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday as both discussed bilateral cooperation and regional developments, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

King Abdullah II arrived earlier at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on an official visit to the kingdom and he was greeted by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and other senior Saudi officials, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

The SPA said the two leaders held a “session of talks” during which they “discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in different fields in addition to ways of enhancing interest of the two countries and peoples. They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.”

The talks were attended by Saudi Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, and several other officials from both Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Jordan and Saudi Arabia share close diplomatic and economic ties. The two are partners in the on-going military campaign against the Islamist State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)
