Ankara said that it was not possible to meet Russian demands for compensation after a warplane was downed last month

Turkey on Wednesday accused Russia of “exaggerating” a military threat that Ankara said does not exist, comments likely to further strain tensions between the two after the downing of a jet over Syria last month.

Turkish foreign ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgic also told a briefing that it was not possible to meet Russian demands for compensation over the downed warplane.
