UAE soldier killed ahead of Yemen deployment
The soldier was killed in a military vehicle accident in Saudi Arabia
The United Arab Emirates says one of its soldiers has been killed in an accident as he was preparing to join Saudi-led military operations in Yemen.
The federation's armed forces announced the death of Obaid Salem Saeed al-Badwawi on Sunday carried by state news agency WAM. It says he was killed in a military vehicle accident in Saudi Arabia, without elaborating.
The Emirates is a major backer of the Saudi-led coalition fighting on behalf of Yemen's internationally recognized government against Houthi militias that control the capital Sanaa and other parts of the country.
